1. Elissa is a polarizing figure. Most people either love her...or hate her. The people that hate her are fans of the other houseguests. In the first three weeks, fans of the other houseguests voted for their favorite to win BBMVP. Obviously it wasn't enough and the votes were spread out too thin for each houseguest to overtake Elissa as BBMVP. It's easy for Elissa to win BBMVP with a total of 10% or less of the votes (because the rest of the 90% is spread among 13,14,15 houseguests). So this week, when giving the opportunity to concentrate all your votes on one person, all the fans of the other houseguests focused their votes on Elissa because they don't like her getting BBMVP every week. This reason makes the most sense assuming voters had brains and can read. I think it's this main reason along with reason #2 below.
2. Elissa fans failed to read the directions. The page to vote for the third nominee looks identical to the page with the BBMVP in previous weeks. The only thing that changed were the directions in the blue box, which many don't read. So people clicked on her assuming they were voting for her to get BBMVP.
It's possible Elissa even got more votes than Aaryn because of reason #2, I wouldn't doubt it.
My best guess for who replacement nominee will be if Elissa uses POV on herself: Amanda. Because Amanda is a polarizing figure. Live feeders see she's abrasive and bossy, and Amanda's really popular so it's possible her fans didn't read the directions too when voting.
